I can also help you review, edit, and rejuvenate existing grant materials.

Tangibles include: primary research summaries; funder prospect abstracts; funder worksheets and grant calendars; proposals, letters of inquiry, and concept papers; and grant reports.

I also enjoy working with clients on other projects relevant to the grant-seeking process. To take just one example: has your organization's archive been sifted recently for affecting materials or striking data? I can conduct a study and generate a précis.

Academics

I edit a variety of written materials for academics:

• manuscripts, including books, articles, dissertations, and proposals

• research and teaching statements

• funding application materials

I specialize in developmental editing, which begins with a macro-level analysis. We'll consider your work's aim and audience, its organization (does it cohere?), its argumentation (does it logically advance?), its evidence and content (is it relevant? weighted correctly?), and its language (is its level of complexity appropriate?).

I also line edit for clarity, consistency, and flow.

Finally, I act as writing coach. Increasingly, the demands placed on working researchers and teachers leave little time for development of the craft.
